Frequently Asked Questions
How does this survival bag help prevent hypothermia?
The waterproof survival bag traps body heat inside the bivvy while blocking wind, rain, and ground cold. This insulating effect significantly slows heat loss — critical in cold, wet, or windy emergency conditions where hypothermia is a risk.
Why is it orange?
The high-visibility orange colour makes this survival bag easy to spot by rescue teams, helicopters, and emergency responders — an important survival feature for wilderness emergencies, lost hikers, and disaster situations.
Is it suitable for a 72 hour emergency kit?
Yes. At just 9 oz and folding compactly, it’s one of the most practical additions to a 72 hour emergency kit, bug-out bag, or vehicle emergency supply kit. It provides emergency shelter and signalling capability with almost no weight or bulk.
Can it be used as a ground sheet?
Yes. The waterproof 3mm polyethylene construction works as both an emergency bivvy (sleeping bag cover) and a ground sheet — providing a moisture barrier between you and wet or cold ground.
